News Center

News Center articles are public WordPress posts. Article comments use WordPress comment storage and moderation, including the submitted display name, email, IP address and browser information. Your email and connection details are not displayed with the comment. Articles and approved comments can be indexed by search engines. Comment cookies are optional where offered.

Information you provide

Forum topics display the name and text you submit publicly. Forum replies display your name and text; WordPress also stores the email address, network address, and browser information associated with a reply, but the forum does not display them. Posts and replies may remain available until removed by the site owner.

Optional accounts and profiles

Accounts store your username, email, hashed password and profile choices in WordPress. Authentication uses WordPress login cookies. We email password setup, reset and change notices; your email is not displayed in the member directory. City, state, interests, biography and profile photo are optional. Directory visibility starts off; enabling it makes those profile details public. Locations are self-reported, without GPS. Uploaded photos have public URLs even when a profile is hidden; remove the photo to delete the stored upload. Your saved circle is private and does not send invitations. Account and profile data remain until removed. Contact us for account deletion or data requests; administrators can export or erase profile data through WordPress Privacy tools. Public forum submissions may remain after account removal.

Random Chat

We use a temporary session token and a keyed hash of your network address to match people, prevent abuse, and handle reports. Your browser sends text messages and video connection signals through this website. Those temporary payloads are encrypted in the site database. This is encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption.

Video and audio travel between participants through your browsers when a direct connection works, or through a configured TURN relay when needed. The plugin does not record audio or video. A person you connect with can see or record what you share using their own tools. Peer-to-peer connections may reveal network address information. Video connection services may process technical network information.

Activity history, reports, and retention

Administrators can view an activity history grouped by a keyed network-address hash. It records when topics and replies are submitted and when chats start, connect, end, or are reported. The history does not keep the text of unreported chats. Activity events are scheduled for deletion after 30 days.

When you report someone, the report may include your reason and up to 100 recent text messages, including their timestamps. Administrators can review reports and block a connection. Temporary chat sessions and events are scheduled for deletion after roughly one day; reports are scheduled for deletion after 90 days. WordPress cron runs when the site receives traffic, so deletion may occur later. Server logs and backups may follow separate schedules.

Safety reports and connection information

For new forum submissions, profile saves, chat starts and text messages, we record an encrypted copy of the server-observed IP address, its source, timestamp and the logged-in account ID when available. Routine chat connection records expire after one day; forum/profile connection records after 30 days. Forwarded IP headers are accepted only from specifically configured trusted proxies. Older activity may have only a non-reversible network hash.

A safety report or configured text-rule flag can create a private incident record containing relevant content, connection details, account/session references (including the account email when available), timestamps and the reporter’s submission IP. A profile report may preserve an encrypted copy of the current site-stored profile image. This is not recording of live video/audio, and chat file attachments are not supported. Reports are allegations, not verified findings. Administrators may restrict content or accounts and retain review/access history.

Incident records are scheduled for deletion after 90 days unless placed on a preservation hold. Held records remain until authorized release; records marked with an external reporting reference have no automatic release. The separate incident snapshot may remain after ordinary chat data is deleted. WordPress cron, caches and backups can affect deletion timing. Contact us about your data; records may be retained when necessary for safety or legal obligations.

Administrators can explicitly send a recorded IP address to an Internet registry’s RDAP service or configured IPinfo service for network information. This is not an identity verification or exact-location service. The plugin does not automatically report people to NCMEC; authorized operators may submit relevant information to the CyberTipline or authorities through appropriate channels. No specialized image/video detection service is connected by default.

Optional VPN checks

If the site owner enables VPN restrictions, we send your public connection IP to IPinfo to check whether it is associated with a VPN. We temporarily cache the VPN verdict under a keyed identifier for 10 minutes; we do not store the provider’s returned location in this cache. A VPN flag may restrict community access. Detection can be inaccurate and does not establish misconduct or identify a person. Provider outages allow access. Login/recovery, administrator access and public information pages have exceptions. Contact us to request review of an incorrect restriction.

Security and third parties

We use spam checks and may use CleanTalk if enabled. These services, a configured contact form, hosting providers, and video connection servers may process information needed to provide their services. The site uses security controls, but no online service can promise complete security.

Your choices

Do not post private information in public topics or share it with strangers. You can leave a chat at any time. For questions, removal requests, or requests about information you submitted, use the Contact page. Include enough detail to locate your content; we may need to verify a request before acting on it.
